Loudmouth Golf Collegiate Collection

You either love it or you hate it: Loudmouth Golf gear.  To call this company and their apparel flamboyant is an understatement.  If you are a golf fan you most certainly recognize these pants because golfer John Daly wears them (did you see his British Open outfit??).

Just a couple weeks ago Loudmouth sent out an email announcing their NCAA Collegiate Collection. There are still only a limited number of schools available but the designs and patterns that they do have are quite the spectacle. All of the collegiate gear is Made to Order so you can select the fit, waist size, inseam, etc.

For the ladies they have really cute skorts, skirts and shorts but they also have a line of pants.  I am not so sure about the pants for the ladies - I think I need to see them on, or at least a full-length view on their website, before investing.  These don't come cheap - the ladies pants will run you up to $120.00.

Here are a few of our favorites patterns...

Louisianna State University
We love the LSU diamond pattern - not too over the top.
Unlike LSU fans.

University of Memphis
This University of Memphis skort is perfect for
football and basketball games.

Georgia
I want these. You can select the inseam
so that your shorts can be as short and sassy as you want.

I am sure this college football season we will be seeing a lot more Loudmouth around campuses.  If I order a pair for this season I will be sure to report back with my full review!

Football Season is Here...Some of our Favorite Products

It seems like everyone these days is trying to capitalize on the popularity of college football.  This off-season I have noticed more and more NCAA branded items out on the market...and random ones at that!

Here are a few of my recent favorites just in time for the start of the season...

1. Pop Tarts
Kellogg's has partnered with five universities to license Pop Tarts (I told you these were random, so much for the standard Wheaties box for athletic feats).  Each flavor coincides with the school's team. The five flavors are Michigan Go Blue Strawberry; Georgia Bulldog Berry; Arkansas Razorback Red; Florida Gators Strawberry; and North Carolina Tar Heel Blue. I have been looking for the Georgia Bulldog Berry in my local Atlanta grocery stores but haven't had any luck.

Florida Gator Strawberry Pop Tarts
University of Florida's very own Pop
Tart flavor: Florida Gators' Strawberry

2.  NCAA Paint Buckets
Two weeks ago while reading my Sunday paper I came across the Home Depot circular and noticed that they were promoting 5-gallon branded paint buckets...huh?  All I can assume is that these are not meant for 5 gallons of paint or to mix concrete. However, these would be great for tailgating...I would use them as an ice bucket (one must always have a separate cooler for ice) or just to haul all of our supply in.  I went online to check out their selection and it only looks like they have a limited number of schools available.  I need to make a trip to my local Home Depot to see if they some University of Georgia buckets to add to my tailgate supply collection.
Notre Dame 5-gallon bucket. They also have Wisconsin,
UNC, Illinois , LSU and Alabama among others.

While I was searching around on Home Depot's website I also came across these bad boys...

University of West Virginia Rain Boots - those Mountaineers would
 look good in these slickers.

Yes, those are rain boots.  1) What the heck is Home Depot selling collegiate rain boots and 2) How have I never seen these before? These are awesome!  I can recall several games where these definitely would have some in handy!  Upon further investigation it looks like a company called FanShoes makes these. So, I checked out their website and they have some really cool products.  I think this company will eventually be worthy of their own post...so stay tuned.

3) Thirty One Bags
I have a couple friends who sell these handy bags.  In all disclosure, I have a couple bags of my own.  Today, my mom forwarded me an email from one of her co-workers and she had recently visited Atlanta for a Thirty One convention and saw these spirited items.  Aren't they great?  I always feel like we have 500 different bags of groceries, supplies, etc. when we go to our tailgates.  These would be great to consolidate all of our junk into a couple bags...you could have one just for food supplies and another strictly for tailgating essentials like paper products, trash bags, etc. Plus, they are cute and people would be jealous of these I am sure.

Now that the season is officially about to get under way I am sure many more products will surface...if you see anything good out there be sure to tell us about it!

Spirited Rice Krispies Treats

Really, how did I never think of this before?!?  One of the easiest and quickest desserts out there is the enduring Rice Krispy treat (let's be honest...I can eat an entire pan in one sitting).  This past football season I decided to spice up my regular Rice Krispy treats and add some red food coloring to show my team pride.  They were a huge hit and added the perfect amount of spirit and color to our tailgating table.

Here is the recipe I used...

Original Rice Krispies Treats
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz.) miniature marshmallows (these melt easier than the large ones)
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 tablespoon of your team colors food coloring (start with 1/2 tablespoon but you can adjust based on your colors and how dark you want the treats to be)
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

2. Add the cereal. Stir until well coated.

3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Best if served the same day.

I wish I had taken more pictures of my colored treats!
You can see the red ones mixed in with the regular ones
While we are on the subject of Rice Krispies...my girlfriends recently threw me a baby shower and I requested a Rice Krispies diaper cake (don't worry, I didn't think of this all by myself, I found the idea on Pinterest).  My sister made the most amazing shower cake ever!  I had leftover for days!

Tabasco: Condiment of Champions

My family is in love with all things Tabasco. Literally...we consume way too much of it.  In fact, every Christmas my parents give us a gift basket of McIlhenny products that will generally last us through the year.  Our perennial favorites? The Tabasco Spicy Mayonnaise and the Tabasco Garlic/Grilling Marinade (this marinade is seriously the best McIlhenny product there is...you must go try now with all your summer grilling).

With Summer now in full swing we recently stocked up on fresh tomatoes on our recent trip to the farmer's market - and nothing says fresh tomatoes like B.L.Ts. Actually, nothing says Summer like B.L.Ts.

Now, I am not much of a mayo fan...in fact I don't typically eat mayonnaise on sandwiches unless it is mixed in with other food (chicken salad, pimento cheese, etc.) But, I do make an exception when it comes to Tabasco spicy mayo as this mayo tends to make everything better.  For our B.L.T-fest I used both the Spicy Mayonnaise and the Chicago Fire Mustard (from our gift basket, of course) on my sandwich.

Chicago Fire Mustard with Tabasco

Final product with a cheese
addition, of course - so really a B.L.T.C

I promise, this isn't a paid endorsement for Tabasco...I am just a little passionate about how good it is! So, if you are going to waste your calories on a mayonnaise make sure it is the Tabasco Spicy Mayonnaise.  It doesn't just make B.L.Ts better it makes everything better.  I tend to mix a little bit of it in with my regular mayo when making chicken salads, pimento cheeses, deviled eggs and even egg salad.

Game Day Breakfast of Champions: Crock-pot Casserole

Like many of you, I have developed an OBESSION with Pinterest.  I love wasting time on the site and dreaming of fun projects or delicious desserts to make.  I have a feeling that this site is truly going to help me step up my tailgating game for this football season – so many great food, hosting and decor ideas!  Just this past week I created a “Game Days” board and pinned my first recipe to it.  Thanks to “A Latte with otta A” blog for this simple and easy breakfast recipe.  What could be better than Bacon, Eggs, and Potoatos (and no cooking, might I add!) all mixed together in a crock-pot for a super simple Game Day breakfast.

I will have to report back once I make this....enjoy!

Perfect for those early morning football games!
